Guinness World Records Asked ChatGPT What It Knew About The Company

OpenAI's ChatGPT, which was launched in November last year, has gained a lot of attention worldwide and has seen a meteoric rise. The AI chatbot is a comprehensive language tool that generates responses to different requests. The chatbot has already proven its mettle with writing assignments, generating compelling emails, and addressing commonly asked questions. Now, Guinness World Records asked the chatbot what it knew about the company.

Taking to Twitter, GWS shared a tweet showing the information generated by ChatGPT. "asked ChatGPT what they knew about us and they thought we were owned by a company that sold us in 2001 lol," the caption read.

Check out the post here:

GWS shared a screenshot of the chat, and it wrote, "Guinness World Records is a reference book published annually that lists world records and G achievements. The book is published by the Guinness World Records Ltd., a subsidiary of the
Irish company Diageo."

It further said, "The book was first published in 1955 and has since become a widely recognized authority on world records. The records featured in the book cover a wide range of topics, including human achievements, natural phenomena, and man-made creations."

In a follow-up tweet, the company wrote, "the rest is spot on though."

Since being published, the post has amassed 285 likes and 21.8k impressions.

The internet was impressed by the AI chatbot's reply. A user wrote, "If that's all I got wrong they're doing pretty good. It just collects information from the Internet so you probably need to correct a fact out there."

Another user commented, "Impressive."

Meanwhile, many chatbots created using artificial intelligence are gaining prominence across the globe. While Google recently launched its AI chatbot called Bard, Microsoft released its AI bot called Bing. Chinese web giant Baidu has also sprung into action as it recently announced its latest chatbot would be released in March.

"It's My Girlfriend": Peru Man Found With 800-Year-Old Mummy In Bag

Police in Peru have seized a mummified human, between 600 and 800 years old, from a former food delivery man who claimed to have had it at his home for three decades.

The mummy was in the isothermal bag the man had once used to deliver food to people's homes.

The man, 26-year-old Julio Cesar Bermejo, will remain in detention while investigators look into the case, a government official told AFP on Tuesday.

Bermejo told local media the mummy, who he called "Juanita," was "like my spiritual girlfriend."

"At home, she's in my room, she sleeps with me. I take care of her," he said in a video that went viral on social media.

Bermejo said his father brought the mummy home almost 30 years ago.

According to the Ministry of Culture, the pre-Hispanic relic was a "mummified adult male individual, presumably from the eastern area of Puno", a region in the Peruvian Andes some 1,300 kilometers (more than 800 miles) southeast of Lima.

"It's not a Juanita, it's a Juan," a specialist at the ministry affirmed, adding the mummy was of a man at least 45 years old.

The body was wrapped in bandages in the fetal position.

Police found the remains in Bermejo's bag on Saturday while patrolling a park in the city of Puno, where he had been hanging out with friends.

He denied he was trying to sell the mummy and said he was carrying it around because "my friends wanted to see it."

The culture ministry said it had taken possession of the mummified remains "with the aim of protecting and preserving this heritage."

Peru is rich in archaeological sites and objects. Its most visited tourist destination is the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, built in the 15th century near Cusco.

Messi beat his Paris Saint-Germain teammate, and World Cup final rival, Kylian Mbappe to the men's gong with Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema the other contender to claim the prize. The 35-year-old, a seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, succeeds Robert Lewandowski on the FIFA honours list, while Putellas retained the women's prize despite spending the second half of last year out injured.

Animal Body Gifts Rihanna Faux Fur Coat After She Was Spotted In Real Fur

Animal advocacy group PETA has gifted a faux fur coat to Rihanna after the singer was spotted wearing what looked like a real fur coat at a dinner event. According to TMZ, PETA reached out to the 35-year-old popstar to urge her to steer away from wearing real fur coats. The animal rights organisation sent her a letter and a fur coat from Unreal Fur, which they claim will help the singer "stay warm and fashionable while making the cruelty-free switch".

Taking to Twitter, PETA also shared a snippet from the long letter with Rihanna's photo with the request. "We saw photos of you going to dinner in what appears to be a real fur coat. As a mother, you know what it's like to feel protective and to want to make sure no harm comes to your family. Please understand that this desire - this instinct even - is shared by the minks, foxes, and rabbits that are torn away from their families and killed for their fur," the text on the picture read.

Take a look below:

"We could take any fur items off your hands and get them to the only people who truly have an excuse to wear them - people without homes and victims of wars or natural disasters," it added.

The full letter, obtained by TMZ, goes into further detail. As per the outlet, PETA's senior vice President, Lisa Lange, pointed out that it is now illegal to sell fur in California and designers such as Chanel, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Valentino have already banned it. "Won't you please help create a kinder world for your children to grow up in by deciding today that you will no longer wear fur?" the letter read.

"You have so much - won't you please spare animals who ask for nothing but to be left alone to live with their loves ones, free from the electrocutions, gassings, and beating that are standard in the fur industry, and donate your furs to a good cause?" it added.

Further, the letter stated that the faux fur coat will help Rihanna stay "warm and fashionable". Ms Lange also hoped the popstar would consider the request.

How Manish Sisodia's Arrest Brought Opposition Together

The arrest of Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the alleged liquor scam appears to have achieved what ideology or common cause against the BJP had not -- unify the opposition ahead of next year's general elections. Since yesterday, all key opposition parties have tweeted their rage and dismay, backing Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party.

The sole exception was the Congress, which late this evening, took a nuanced position, alleging misuse of Central investigative agencies but keeping silent on AAP.

The Congress's Delhi unit has been at loggerheads with AAP since the Anti-Corruption Movement by Anna Hazare unseated it after three terms in power. Its leaders have supported the arrest of Mr Sisodia and even declared that Arvind Kejriwal should be the next in line.

But late this evening, Congress's media in-charge Jairam Ramesh posted a tweet that placed it firmly at the side of the opposition, though not behind AAP.

Since the BJP-led government came to power, the opposition has been accusing it of targeting them through Central agencies. Prominent opposition leaders across the board have been searched, named in corruption cases and arrested.

Now the arrest of Mr Sisodia -- the face of AAP's overhaul of Delhi schools -- appears to have tapped into opposition grouse, leading to an outcry.

"If @msisodia had got himself a BJP brand of washing machine, he would never been arrested. Bravo, Manish… Allies… have all abandoned BJP. Only CBI, ED, IT remain true allies," tweeted Trinamool's Derek O'Brien.

"By arresting Manish Sisodia ji, who brought revolutionary changes in the field of education in Delhi, BJP has proved that it is not only against education but also against the future of the children of Delhi," said Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Sanjay Raut, senior leader of the Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena, one of the opposition leaders in jail till late, chose to look at the big picture. "The way BJP is arresting Opposition Leaders, I dread, what will happen to BJP leaders in future when they will be out of power," he tweeted.

The CPM issued a statement that said Mr Sisodia's arrest is "part of the Modi Government project to weaponise central investigative agencies to target opposition party leaders".

"In almost every state where the government is run by an opposition party, cases are filed against leaders, arrests are made so as to destabilise the governments being run by opposition parties. Having failed to win elections by democratic means the Modi regime is using central agencies to undermine democracy in India targeting the opposition," the CPM said.

Telangana's ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi, Nitish Kumar's Janta Dal United, Tejashwi Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress ally Jharkhand Mukti Morcha have also condemned the arrest.

With 'Hera Pheri 3' Post, Suniel Shetty Explains Bollywood Film Business

Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty on Monday confirmed that the much-awaited 'Hera Pheri 3' is "finally happening". Taking to LinkedIn, Mr Shetty, who played the role of Shaam in the movie, announced that the film's shooting has started.

"So Hera Pheri 3 is finally happening! Look forward to being back on set with Pareshji & Akki. Like all good things, this one took some time, but it's a relief to finally have an answer to this question!" the actor wrote in his post.

Mr Shetty also spoke about how movies are financed, produced and released, as well as how they make money. "The movie business isn't very different. To explain the entirety of the movie business here would be oversimplifying it. But let's just say having a good script, a set of actors & a director is literally just the starting point," he wrote.

Further, while explaining the several revenue outlets for a film, ranging from box office receipts to digital and satellite rights and music, Mr Shetty said that there are several factors for any business to succeed - a good idea, thorough market research, a solid business plan, a skilled team, funding at the right time and a strong distribution network.

"The movie business isn't very different. To explain the entirety of the movie business here would be oversimplifying it. But let's just say having a good script, a set of actors & a director is literally just the starting point," the actor explained.

The 'Refugee' actor termed the distribution of films as a complex process that involves several layers like producers, distributors and exhibitors. "Once a film's made, a studio typically either sells the distribution rights to a distributor or appoints one on a commission basis, who is then responsible for securing screens from theatre owners, negotiating terms & releasing the film in theatres. Sometimes distributors negotiate a % of the box office collections," he wrote on LinkedIn.

Mr Shetty also mentioned various ways to monetise films. "#BoxOffice collections, domestic & international, are the primary ones," he said. Further, pointing out that music rights are another key source of revenue, he stated, "#MusicRights are another important source of revenue. Usually sold to a #musiclabel who in turn monetise it through channels like streaming, licensing, digital ad revenues, etc..."

"33 years & 125 films later I don't have it all figured out, but I will keep getting better at it," the actor concluded.

Girls Poisoned To Stop Them From Going To School: Iran Minister

An Iranian deputy minister on Sunday said "some people" were poisoning schoolgirls in the holy city of Qom with the aim of shutting down education for girls, state media reported.

Since late November, hundreds of cases of respiratory poisoning have been reported among schoolgirls mainly in Qom, south of Tehran, with some needing hospital treatment.

On Sunday the deputy health minister, Younes Panahi, implicitly confirmed the poisonings had been deliberate.

"After the poisoning of several students in Qom schools, it was found that some people wanted all schools, especially girls' schools, to be closed," the IRNA state news agency quoted Panahi as saying.

He did not elaborate. So far, there have been no arrests linked to the poisonings.

On February 14, parents of students who had been ill had gathered outside the city's governorate to "demand an explanation" from the authorities, IRNA reported.

The next day government spokesman Ali Bahadori Jahromi said the intelligence and education ministries were trying to find the cause of the poisonings.

Last week, Prosecutor General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri ordered a judicial probe into the incidents.

The poisonings come as Iran has been rocked by protests since the December 16 death in custody of 22-year-old Iranian Kurd Mahsa Amini for an alleged violation of country's strict dress code for women.

Citibank Removes Signboard From Iconic Kolkata Office After 121 Years

In what is termed as the 'end of an era', Citibank has taken down its signboard from its landmark Kanak Building office on Kolkata's Chowringhee road. The move comes in the wake of Axis Bank's acquisition of Citibank's India consumer business.

Notably, American banking major Citi entered India in 1902 and started the consumer banking business in 1985. It was at the Kolkata office where the bank started its operations in India. However, as part of the rebranding exercise with Axis bank, the landmark signboard has been removed.

Last year, Axis Bank announced it would acquire US-based Citi's consumer business in India for ₹ 12,325 crores in one of the largest deals in the Indian financial services space, which will help it close the gap with larger peers like ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank.

"Axis Bank has grown all these years organically and has scaled well. But our aspirations are bigger. This deal gives us that strategic thrust to close the gap between us and some of our peers," its chief executive and managing director Amitabh Chaudhry told reporters after the deal.

It was in 2021 that Citigroup announced its plans of exiting 13 international consumer banking markets, shifting its focus to wealth management and away from retail banking in places where it is small. ''Citigroup will depart China, India and 11 other retail markets, where "we don't have the scale we need to compete," said Citi Chief Executive Jane Fraser.

Not just Citi,  several other foreign lenders have cut their presence in the country due to a slew of reasons, including global strategies and technological shifts like automation and online banking.

Earlier in 2012, British banking major Barclays massively scaled down India operations by closing a third of its branches in non-metro areas.

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Royal Bank of Scotland Plc, Deutsche Bank, and HSBC are some other foreign banks that have either winded up their business in the country or scaled down India operations.

2 Thieves Break Into Bank, Burn Files After Failing To Find Money: Police

After failing to find money, two masked thieves burnt nearly 150 important files following a break into the Lambloo branch of the Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Sunday, police said.

According to police, the duo entered the bank at 3 am by making a big hole in its wall and burnt the records there. The whole incident was captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the bank.

"Sensitive Info Leaked": Phogat On #MeToo Investigation Of Wrestling Body

The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) vs Wrestlers saga is showing no signs of an end. Despite a probe committee being formed to investigate the accusations of 'sexual harassment' against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, there hasn't been any development on the matter. In fact, now Vinesh Phogat, one of the wrestlers demanding the removal of Brij Bhushan from the wrestling body, has claimed that a member of the probe committee is leaking 'sensitive information' to the press. Phogat has demanded strict action be taken against the person.

In a post on Twitter, Phogat said that a certain member of the oversight committee has allegedly leaked the contents of the complaint to the media. Phogat also questioned the 'attitude of the person against women'.

"It has come to my recent awareness that a sportsperson member of the Oversight Committee has been allegedly leaking contents of the complaint of sexual harassment while reading certain media reports since yesterday. Being a sports person it is extremely disheartening to see a fellow sports-person member of the Oversight Committee has behaved so recklessly. Their attitude towards women is evident from such behaviour," she wrote.

"It is even more appalling that this sportsperson is a member of both the committees enquiring upon the sexual harassment allegations against high-ranking office bearers of the WFI. All this has placed great mistrust towards the committee proceedings. | am feeling let down at the not just weak but also strategic attempts of this committee member towards what should have been a fair and just investigation. I request that strict action be taken against the member for using his position in such a manner and that they should be immediately removed from the committee.

"The concern is not limited to the proceedings of this investigation itself as I'm sure that the former President is finding support from this member. This member has been acting against the interest of women from day one. The lack of empathy and insensitivity displayed by this sportsperson was shocking during the proceedings of the committee. I request this matter to be investigated and all necessary actions to be taken immediately," the post added.

It was also recently reported that the Sports Ministry is annoyed with the country's top wrestlers for opting out of multiple international events amid the ongoing stand-off with the Wrestling Federation of India.

British pop star Harry Styles will be required to take part in the 2023 New Zealand census because it falls on the same night as his concert in Auckland. The census, which is carried out every five years in the country, will take place on March 7. Everyone in the nation including foreign visitors are required to participate, as per a report in CNN.

The 2023 census account of New Zealand confirmed this on Twitter while replying to a user and said everyone in the country is required to provide their details including "tourists, visitors and former members of One Direction". The account also posted an "artist's impression" of Harry Styles completing his census form while it was "lovingly rendered in fuchsia in Microsoft Paint".

The British singer will be questioned about his family members, smoking habits and financial situation. The 2023 census will be the first to gather data on gender and sexual orientation. All responses given are confidential and a fine may be imposed on anyone who doesn't participate or who gives incorrect or inaccurate information, the outlet further stated.

Recently, the 29-year-old singer began the Australia and New Zealand leg of his 'Love On Tour' by participating in an Australian custom called 'shoey'. While standing on the stage, he pulled off one of his green Adidas sneakers, poured drink into it and chugged it in front of a loud audience.

In various videos of the concert shared on social media, the singer can be heard saying, "This is one of the most disgusting traditions I've ever witnessed." Harry Styles informed the rowdy crowd that he felt "like a different person" after taking part in the custom. "I feel ashamed of myself, I'll be discussing this with my therapist at length. At length!" he remarked.

"Ishant Hurled Abuse": Ex-Pakistan Star Reveals Heated Exchange With Pacer

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal has finally opened up about his on-field spat with Ishant Sharma during an India-Pakistan match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in December 2012. Akmal claimed that it was Ishant who initially started abusing him and, as a result, he got it back. He then went on to reveal that it was Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni who came in to settle the matter. As quoted by cricket pundit Farid Khan, Akmal said: "Ishant Sharma did hurl abuse, he got all the abuses back too (Ishant ne gaali diya par baad mein usko bhi bohot pada). MS Dhoni was really nice and Suresh Raina came and settled it down. India were losing and it happened in the heat of the moment. Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez played very well, so he was furious."

This is not the only incident the former Pakistani batter has shared recently. During his interaction on the YouTube channel 'Nadir Ali Podcast', he was asked to recall a similar incident. In 2009 Akmal and Gautam Gambhir were caught in an on-field verbal feud.

"It was a complete misunderstanding. It was an Asia Cup match in 2009. Saeed Ajmal bowled, there was an appeal for caught-behind from me. It was given not out. Gambhir said something in a hilarious way, but because of the hype around the India-Pakistan matches...he did not say any cuss words. If I am not wrong, he said that to himself, but I felt it was directed towards me," he said.

Akmal later clarified that it was due to a misunderstanding. If it wasn't for Dhoni and the intervention of the on-field umpires a single misunderstanding would have certainly made things go bad from worse. India and Pakistan share a long history of on-field fights and these two moments are some of the most memorable moments.

Congress Could Have Been More Vocal About Cow Vigilantism: Shashi Tharoor

Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Saturday said the Congress should be absolutely clear in its ideological stance in favour of an inclusive India and pointed out that party could have been more vocal on issues such as the Bilkis Bano outrage and murder in the name of cow vigilantism.

Addressing the 85th plenary session of the party here, the former Union minister said the Congress should stand up for its foundational principles.

"We should be absolutely clear in our ideological stance in favour of inclusive India. The tendency to downplay some positions or avoid taking a stand on some issues in order not to alienate what we assume to be the sentiments of the majority only plays into the BJP's hands," Mr Tharoor said.

"We must have the courage of our convictions. We could have been more vocal on the Bilkis Bano outrage, attacks on Christian churches, murder in the name of cow vigilantism, bulldozer demolition of Muslim homes and similar issues," he said.

These are Indian citizens who look to the party for support, Mr Tharoor added.

Last year in August, all 11 convicts sentenced to life imprisonment in the 2002 post-Godhra Bilkis Bano gang rape case walked out of the Godhra sub-jail after the Gujarat government allowed their release under its remission policy, triggering outrage from various sections, including the Congress. He asserted that India belongs to all and if the party does not speak up in such cases, it is only surrendering its core responsibility of standing up for India's diversity and pluralism which should be central to the Congress core message.

He said every effort must be made to strengthen the secular foundations of the country.

"The fact is that India's future is bright as long as the Congress fights the good fight," Mr Tharoor said.

He also hailed the Bharat Jodo Yatra, saying it has revived the confidence of the party cadre.

"From here let us send out a message of Congress jodo," Mr Tharoor said.

Speaking on the economic resolution passed on the second day of the three-day plenary, Mr Tharoor said it should outline the elements of a progressive economic agenda that addresses head-on the challenge of unacceptable economic inequality.

"We want economic growth but we must ensure that the fruits of that growth reach the poor and the marginalised. India will not shine until it shines for all," he stressed.

The former minister of state for external affairs and the convenor of the party's sub-group on foreign affairs for the plenary also said policy has long been seen as an are of national consensus.

"There was no Congress foreign policy or BJP foreign policy only Indian foreign policy and Indian national interest. This tradition has sadly been undermined by the (Narendra) Modi government," Mr Tharoor said.

He also criticised the government, saying it refuses to take the nation into confidence on vital foreign policy issues, including what is happening on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.

"It is shocking to hear our foreign minister imply that China is too rich to stand up to. We must demand that Parliament be taken into confidence, that the nation be told what is our thinking about our vital foreign policy interests," he said.

Foreign policy must again return to being a consensual national endeavour with bipartisan agreement and support, he asserted.

In its resolution on foreign affairs passed at the session, the Congress expressed its deep concern about the prevailing situation on the LAC between India and China.

"The prevailing situation is indicative of a substantial deterioration from the assiduously-repaired relations developed under prime ministers Rajiv Gandhi, Narasimha Rao and Dr Manmohan Singh. We firmly believe that we have a duty to stand up for India's security and territorial sovereignty, which the BJP government has failed to do," the party said.

"When it comes to the safety of our brave jawans and the integrity of our territory, the INC (Indian National Congress) unreservedly supports the army and the government," it said.

The Congress alleged that the government has failed to take the people of India into confidence about the "repeated transgressions" by the Chinese military at various points across the LAC, while it continues to engage with China in an "unstructured manner".

"This has emboldened China to be even more aggressive. India needs to communicate this clearly without obfuscation, and urgently enhance capabilities to deter China from attempting any military coercion along the LAC," it said.

At the same time, the guiding principles enshrined in the 2005 India-China agreement on the boundary issue need to be strongly reaffirmed in any engagement with China, the resolution said.

Finally, any and all measures need to be undertaken to defend the territorial integrity of India, which the Congress firmly commits to, the party said.

In its political resolution, the Congress said it has always believed in peace through both strength and negotiation, while dealing with all acts of aggression firmly.

"The UPA era reflected this approach -- through both high-level engagements and strengthening military and strategic capabilities. Our thinking can also be seen in our approach to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, which plays a key role in building infrastructure and maintaining peace on the border," the resolution said.

The Congress established the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in 1962, gave it a statutory basis in 1992 and assigned the entire China border to it in 2004, it said.

"In contrast, the lethargy and neglect of the BJP government has increased India's vulnerability. The Line of Actual Control between India and China continues to remain tense, with China claiming Indian territory in eastern Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh," the political resolution said.

"Even as a lakh troops or more are stationed in eastern Ladakh, Beijing is accelerating its rail networks and heightening the threat to our borders," it said.

Core Within Earth's Core: Scientists Discover Deepest Region Of Earth

In order to comprehend planetary origin and evolution, scientists have been investigating the Earth's centre for a very long time, and recently they have made a huge discovery related to the innercore of the planet Earth.

Until recently, it was believed that the crust, mantle, outer core, and inner core made up the structure of the Earth. But, new research published in Nature Communications confirms that there is actually a fifth layer.

According to a new study, scientists have made previously unheard-of observations of a mystery metal ball that resides within the Earth's deep core, revealing a structure that has long been the subject of conjecture but has never been seen in such detail.

Researchers said the intensive study of Earth's deep interior, based on the behavior of seismic waves from large earthquakes, confirmed the existence of a distinct structure inside our planet's inner core - a wickedly hot innermost solid ball of iron and nickel about 800 miles (1,350 km) wide.

Earth's diameter is about 7,900 miles (12,750 km). The planet's internal structure comprises four layers: a rocky crust on the outside, then a rocky mantle, an outer core made of magma and a solid inner core. This metallic inner core, about 1,500 miles (2,440) wide, was discovered in the 1930s, also based on seismic waves traveling through Earth.

"We may know more about the surface of other distant celestial bodies than the deep interior of our planet," said observational seismologist Thanh-Son Pham of the Australian National University in Canberra, lead author of the study published in the journal Nature Communications.

"We analyzed digital records of ground motion, known as seismograms, from large earthquakes in the last decade. Our study becomes possible thanks to the unprecedented expansion of the global seismic networks, particularly the dense networks in the contiguous US, the Alaskan peninsula, and over the European Alps," Pham added.

"Earth's inner core (IC), which accounts for less than 1% of the Earth's volume, is a time capsule of our planet's history. As the IC grows, the latent heat and light elements released by the solidification process drive the convection of the liquid outer core, which, in turn, maintains the geodynamo," said Pham and Tkalcic in the study.

"As the IC grows, the latent heat and light elements released by the solidification process drive the convection of the liquid outer core, which, in turn, maintains the geodynamo," they said referring to the mechanism that generates Earth's magnetic field.

US Will Continue To Develop And Foster Ties With Indian Military: Pentagon

The United States is looking forward to continue to develop and foster its relationship with the Indian military, the Pentagon has said.

"The US and India enjoy a good partnership. We look forward to continuing to develop and foster our relationship with the Indian military," Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Brig Gen Pat Ryder told reporters at a news conference in Washington on Friday.

In 1997, defence trade between India and the US was almost negligible, today it stands above USD 20 billion.

Last month during a press conference, Brig Gen Ryder said that India is a "great example" of countries who are choosing security assistance from the US, underlining that it was ready for any response to wean them away from Russia.

India has faced flak from US lawmakers, both Republicans and Democrats, for choosing to abstain from a UN vote to rebuke Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

US officials have expressed concern over India's purchase of the S-400 missile systems by Russia.

In October 2018, India signed a USD 5 billion deal with Russia to buy five units of the S-400 Triumf air defence missile systems to ramp up its air defence, despite a warning from the then-Trump administration that going ahead with the contract may invite US sanctions.

After landing at Bhopal, the airport's team, without wasting a second, quickly offboarded the passenger and shifted him safely to the nearest hospital, Bhopal Airport said in a statement.

Earlier in the day, Dammam-bound Air India Express flight from Calicut was diverted to Thiruvananthapuram after its tail brushed the ground during take off.

A full emergency was declared at the Thiruvananthapuram airport and the flight landed safely, officials said.

According to officials, Air India Express flight IX 385 on Kozhikode-Dammam route diverted to Thiruvananthapuram due to suspected tail strike while taking off from Kozhikode airport.

"There were 168 passengers on board, and the aircraft made normal safe landing at Thiruvananthapuram at 12.15PM and passengers deplaned," the airline said in a statement.

"We are making arrangements to send the passengers to Dammam by an alternate flight which is scheduled to take off from Thiruvananthapuram at 3.30 PM today," the statement said adding that the airline staff are attending to all the requirements of the passengers at Thiruvananthapuram.

Jammu And Kashmir Teacher Suspended Over Post "Critical" Of Government

A teacher of a government school in Jammu and Kashmir has been suspended for a social media post "critical" of the government.

Joginder Singh, a schoolteacher in Ramban district, allegedly posted some comments on his Facebook page criticising the Union Territory administration's policies.

The action was taken a week after the administration warned government employees to avoid criticising the government on social media.

According to an order issued by the administration, Mr Singh was suspended for violating government directions "regarding criticism of policies" on social media platforms.

Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta had warned employees last week against criticising its policies on social media.

Mr Mehta had asked all administrative secretaries to monitor social media activities of their employees and identify those criticising or commenting adversely on policies and achievements of the government.

The administration, however, has not made a specific mention of its policies that were criticised by the suspended teacher.

According to the order, it was found after a "proper scrutiny" that the teacher has been running four Facebook pages. On two pages, he has given his designation as a "teacher". On the other two, he called himself a "socio-political activist".

"It has been found that the said teacher has posted various posts criticizing and commenting adversely about the government policies on his Facebook page. He has concealed his identity (in two Facebook accounts) and made fake Facebook ID with a profession as socio-political activist and not a government Teacher," said the order by the Ramban Deputy Commissioner Musarrat ul Islam.

Mr Islam said the teacher will remain attached to the office of the Ramban Chief Education Officer till the investigation is complete. The administration has asked the additional district development commissioner to look into the matter.

The order also said the government withheld Mr Singh's salary in 2020 for allegedly misusing social media.

Since 2019, the Union Territory's administration has launched a crackdown on "misuse" of social. Many have been charged under the anti-terror law UAPA over their social media posts.

In 2021, the Jammu and Kashmir administration told employees to give details of their social media accounts for police verification.

Dinner Outing Turns Fatal For 25-Year-Old Man Days After Birthday In Delhi

Barely two weeks back, Suhail Ahmed celebrated his 25th birthday. He used to occasionally go out for dinner with his friends but who knew this time, the outing will take such a tragic turn, said his cousin Nafees.

Suhail was among the two people who were killed when his car collided with another four-wheeler in central Delhi on Friday morning while returning after having dinner. Puneet Kohli (33) was also killed in the accident.

Nafees said the family learnt about the accident from his friend Arslan who was passing by the area.

"We received information about the incident around 2.30 am. Suhail's friend Arslan, who was passing by the stretch where the incident took place, heard that some people from his area had met with the incident and enquired further. Later, he informed us about it.

"By the time we reached the hospital, Suhail had been declared dead. He recieved injuries on his head and neck. Suhail left home with his friends at around 11.30 pm. When the incident happened, they were returning from Okhla after having dinner. The car belonged to his friend Taalish," Nafees said.

He occasionally used to go out for dinner with his friends. When he left on late Thursday evening, it was just like another outing with his friends, but nobody knew that it will take this tragic turn, Nafees said.

Suhail celebrated his 25th birthday on February 11. He used to work in a car AC compressor repair shop in Daryaganj, he said.

He is survived by his father Akil Ahmed and four sisters, three of whom are married. His mother died around 12 years back, Nafees said, adding that he was not married.

Police informed us that they pulled the victims out of the cars. Sohail had a driving license, however, we have no idea who was driving the car at the time of the incident, Nafees claimed.

Two others were also injured in the accident. A Ford EcoSport approaching Sarai Kale Khan from ITO and a Honda Civic coming towards ITO from Sarai Kale Khan collided with each other at the Ring Road near IP Metro station, a senior officer said.

The family of Shiv Puri Extension resident Kohli were also in a state of shock after loosing the elder son in the accident.

Sharad Kapoor, Kohli's cousin said Puneet had admitted his uncle to a hospital last night.

"Puneet took his uncle, suffering with jaundice, to the Lady Hardinge Hospital last night in the emergency ward. When they reached the hospital, the doctors admitted his uncle. He had gone to Noida and later was going back to the hospital to stay there for night," he said.

Kohli used to work as a relationship manager in a private insurance company in Defence Colony here.

Amit Walia, who knew Kohli, claimed, "The family recently sold off their property in Chander Nagar area and had moved to Ghaziabad. They did not like the location where they were currently residing and were planning to return back Chander Nagar."

Puneet is survived by his father, mother and younger brother. Another person who knew Kohli but requested annonimity said, "I am a professional singer and Puneet called me day before yesterday. we had a good conversation for around 20 minutes. He told me to follow my passion and said that he will fund my first album. He was a very kind and generous guy. He is a very good friend of my elder brother."
